Autism Awareness

This course will provide you an understanding  of what autism is and how it affects daily life. You will develop an understanding of autism spectrum disorders, identify the signs of autism and understand the diagnosis procedure. In addition you will learn how to best support children and their families from managing distressing behaviour at home.

  •  What is autism, autism spectrum disorder, myths and misconceptions, facts about autism, terminology, and autism and the law.
  • Understanding the diagnosis process
  • Understanding Autism and social communication, social interaction, social imagination, special interests and routines, sensory sensitivity and strengths in autism.
  • Understanding your job role and developing your existing knowledge and skills
