Designated Safeguarding Lead (Live Session) 2024

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead course is perfect for senior practitioners new to the role as well as those experienced.

Some of the topics covered include:

• Regional and national child protection process 
• Newsletters which will support the DSL
• Points to be addressed in your safeguarding policy
• Terms associated with the Prevent Duty
• Child Protection Case conferences and more
  

Course attendees will work collaboratively discussing case studies throughout to share skills and knowledge.

This course focuses on how the DSL can develop an effective safeguarding culture within their setting while discussing some of the barriers to this and how they can be overcome.

As well as focussing on safeguarding within the setting the session discusses factors outside of the setting which could put children at risk as well as onboarding staff to ensure clarity of what denotes child protection & safeguarding, regardless of personal opinions.

The course will have elements which are provided for attendees to complete independently on our VLA then followed up with our screen to screen sessions led by our passionate and knowledgeable CPD trainers.
