A language barrier can impact on a person’s everyday
activities, causing them stress and potential misunderstanding to occur.
Hearing or seeing a language which is different from your own native language
can feel overwhelming, intimidating and even a little frightening. Without the
means of verbal communication, the simplest of tasks become a challenge.
This course will build your confidence in EAL support for children and their parents. Learn how to recognise behaviour changes arising from EAL needs, celebrate cultural and language differences, and help children to feel comfortable and secure within your setting.
