Emergency First Aid at Work (Face to Face) 2024

An Emergency First Aid at Work training course (EFAW training) is described by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as training that ‘enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work’. 

It includes fewer topics than the FAW course, and is designed to qualify trainers to respond confidently to emergency medical situations or deputise in the absence of the Trained FAW person.

What will I learn on the Emergency First Aid at Work Course? 

This emergency first aid at work course will provide you with a basic understanding, recognition and treatment of injuries or illness and be competent in administering basic emergency first aid.

What key topics are covered on an emergency first aid at work course?

Throughout this first aid at work course you will gain the skills and confidence to respond to emergencies and accidents, by learning the following topics:

• Aims and responsibilities
• Recording of incidents and accidents and contents of first aid kit
• How to deal with an emergency
• Resuscitation
• CPR
• Recovery position
• Choking / Asthma
• Recognise and how to deal with shock
• Treatment and control of bleeding
• Seizures
• AED - (Automated External Defibrillator)

Who is this emergency first at work course suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to become a competent first aider in the workplace, who may need to exercise first aid on someone who because ill or injured in the workplace.
