Job Description

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for the overall management of the Sales and Marketing departments.  You will develop and implement marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness and deliver projects for business growth. You will need to be sales driven with strong marketing acumen. You also need to be forward-thinking and open to embracing innovation to improve on everything we do and make us even more effective within our industry. The role is remote with a key element of nationwide travel.

Key Tasks

  • Lead a high performing team of sales executives continuously growing and developing new business opportunities
  • Develop a marketing strategy to support the plans for company growth
  • Review current sales processes and strategies, determine reward/ incentive schemes to achieve excellence in sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Present detailed reports showing sales and marketing data to the SMT and Group.
  • Work collaboratively with other key departments, to avoid silo working and to achieve our focus of learners and delegates on the right programmes.
  • Focusing business development within our current sectors and identify new opportunities.
  • Adopt a scientific, data-led approach to growth and use that information to empower sales and improve conversation rates and meet the needs of customers.
  • Achieve bigger and better results within two years and see good YOY improvement in average in learning numbers and course sales.

Experience

  • Working in a high demand environment, to targets and tight deadlines
  • Working remotely/ managing a team remotely
  • Relevant sales experience including management with sales functions and a track record of exceeding quotas
  • Marketing experience, including leading/liaising with a marketing team
  • Previous experience of design, implementation and delivery of successful long-term sales and strategies
  • Analytical abilities and previous budget forecasting as well as sales analytics and controls.

Knowledge

  • Great understanding of the sector.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies within this sector
  • Strong sales leadership and performance management, ideally including sales of levy and non-levy funded and commercial training.
  • A solid understanding of UK apprenticeship including funding available for employers.

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.

  • Strong leadership and team building skills
