Job Description

The delivery of Apprenticeships and Skills training is a growth area for the UK.  

Driven by both UK Government and Employers, vocational training is set to play a bigger role in the Post-16 Education landscape, creating more pathways for learners and delivering a skilled workforce for employers. 

As a Business Development Manager at Busy Bees Education and Training you will be at the heart of this exciting change, helping us to empower employers and learners.  

Working within a supportive growth culture, you will be responsible for identifying and winning new apprenticeship training business and for developing lasting relationships.  

This is a results driven role that requires tenacity and a desire to succeed, Busy Bees education and training are a market leader and employ purpose driven individuals that can hit the ground running and achieve targets. 

To succeed in this role, we expect that you will have 2+ years as a BDM selling Apprenticeship training and a demonstrable track record in delivering new employer relationships. 

Key accountabilities: 

    • Be accountable for the delivery of new apprenticeship starts.  
    • Identify and secure new business opportunities with employers for apprenticeship and commercial training programmes 
    • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with employers, ensuring repeat business and partnership growth. 
    • Conduct employer needs analysis to match suitable apprenticeship standards to workforce development needs.  
    • Achieve agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets, including learner starts and revenue goals. 
    • Support marketing initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of Busy Bees Education and Training. 

    Requirements for the Role: 

    • Strong Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Communicates in a way that is easily understood and ensures high standards of professionalism.
    • Proven experience: in business development, sales, or employer
    • Industry experience: Strong understanding of apprenticeship programmes, funding, and compliance requirements. 
    • Relationship builder: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all organisational levels.

    • Empathetic and supportive. Able to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels. 
    • Adaptable and proactive. Capable of handling various tasks and challenges effectively. 

    Other: 

    • Must be able to pass a criminal record check (enhanced DBS or equivalent) 
    • Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to travel nationally and work early mornings and evenings if required. 
    • Full Drivers Licence required.
