Job Description

Your Mission


As a Knowledge Coach you are responsible for providing expert knowledge when teaching maths and English to groups and individuals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring learners gain the maths and English knowledge and skills required to achieve their apprenticeship programme. You will deliver high-quality, engaging, and impactful teaching, using a blended delivery model  that combines face-to-face group and online learning while enhancing the learning experience.


Your Responsibilities


People:

• Ensure regulatory and contractual duties are fulfilled. • Create a fair and respectful work environment by implementing and enforcing consistent policies. • Deliver high quality structured teaching sessions that support learners in gaining the key skills required to successfully grow and develop their functional skills. • Provide learning support to deliver tailored teaching and learning for all learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring accessibility and equitable learning opportunities. • Provide expertise and guidance to Development Coaches to facilitate bespoke learning and action plans. • Provide pastoral support referring learners to additional services if required (e.g.Mental Health support)

Quality:

• Create and maintain a strong safeguarding culture, protecting team members and learners against any risk of harm, including all types of bullying, radicalisation or abuse. • Ensure operational quality and compliance measures are reported on in line with agreed targets and objectives. • Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to funding body, inspectorate, Awarding Body and End Point Assessment (EPAO) regulations and expectations. • Undertake all mandatory training as required for your role and ensure compliance across national operations. • Engage in ongoing professional development to keep up to date with the latest developments in functional skills, education technology and learner support. • Tailor lesson plans, to suit different learning styles and needs including resources and material, which are accessible and inclusive to ensure learner potential is maximised. • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress and achievements ad provide feedback in a timely manner.


Customers:

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including apprenticeship employers, learners and other key stakeholders. • Provide detailed reports on learner progress to internal and externalstakeholders. • Contribute to creating an inclusive environment to provide quality education accessible to all learners. • Give constructive feedback to support the growth of the business. • Support with new initiatives and projects. • Share best practice with colleagues and contribute to the development of a forward-thinking teaching and support culture. • Provide feedback and share insights with the Curriculum Manager to inform


The Ideal Candidate An inspiring and motivational teacher and coach, with the ability to develop every learner to maximise their own potential. A skilled teacher with the ability to adapt and to engage a group of learners to achieve high success rates and positive outcomes. Adaptable, patient, caring and innovative, creating engaging learning for all functional skills learners.

Experience:

• Experience in Teaching, Learning and Assessment • Understanding of apprenticeship frameworks, standards, regulatory compliance and funding body requirements. • Experience in supporting learners with special educational needs. • Experience working to deadlines in a high demand environment. • Knowledge of sector specific software


Qualifications:

• Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, and Maths • Recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification. • Specialised qualification in SEND, additional needs or learning difficulties (desirable)



Skills and Competencies:

• Strong organisational and time management skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in using blended learning methodologies, including Learner Management Systems, digital platforms and online teaching tools. • Attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work independently and as a team. • Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practice • Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent Duty requirements.

• Reliable and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity. • Empathetic and supportive, able to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels. • Adaptable and proactive, capable of handling various tasks and challenges effectively.

Other:

• Must be able to pass a criminal record check (enhanced DBS or equivalent) • Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to travel nationally for business meetings as required.
