Your Mission
As a SENCO, you will lead the SEND provision and have a passion for working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will have the responsibility of providing support to development coaches to achieve the best outcomes for the learners they are supporting. You will have a good understanding of how to support learners with any additional needs, and how to claim funding that can enhance the learner’s experience, so they always achieve the highest qualification. You will provide resources to development coaches to share with their learners.
Key Tasks
Develop and oversee the implementation of our SEN strategy
Identify needs and monitors the progress of learners with additional needs
Work with other departments to ensure learners are receiving the best learning experience and are reaching their potential
Monitor individual education plans
Provide advice and guidance and training to assessment staff on supporting learners with SEND
Lead Cross Team meetings with SMT/Operations to ensure each SEN learner or learners who match on Cognassist are discussed
Analyse local and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions including policies
Lead training sessions to support internal employees.
Requirements for the Role
Understanding of the law and guidance on special educational needs and disabilities
Knowledge of types of abuse and signs and indicators to look for
Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities and how to support individuals to reach their full potential
Have experience working in a SEND provision.
Qualifications
Level 3 or above Education and Training
Hold a relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs
Maths and English.
