This qualification is suitable for learners already within a management role in adult care who manage teams and/or projects, and achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. It could also be suitable for those having the ability and the opportunity to demonstrate recognisable management and leadership skills who are accountable to a senior manager or business owner.
The new qualification has been designed to support the on programme element of the Leader in Adult Care apprenticeship standard in England and covers the knowledge and skills required to work in adult care in a leadership role in a range of settings. Once the Institute for Apprenticeships publish the Leader in Adult Care apprenticeship standard, this qualification as become mandatory for apprentices working towards the standard.
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care qualification contains units which are competence based and some knowledge based units.
The qualification is structured in a way which means that all learners will have to complete a group of 20 mandatory units, the content of which is appropriate across many leadership roles in adult care.
