Adult Care Worker Intermediate Level 2

This course represents front-line care workers who support adults in need. Adult Care Workers make their main objective to support adults with achieving their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible. A large proportion of adult care workers will operate in residential and nursing homes, domiciliary care and day centres.

Course details

Care workers demonstrate compassion and consideration as well as maintaining the individual’s dignity and respect. They also provide excellent communication skills to ensure the individual in care understands any important instructions. Whilst completing this course you will learn:

  • Professional boundaries
  • What the 'duty of care' is in practice
  • About different forms of communication: signing and communication boards
  • What abuse is and what to do when there are concerns that someone is being abused
  • How to recognise signs of unsafe practices in the workplace.

    How is this Apprenticeship delivered?
    Entry Requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements for the Adult Care Worker apprenticeship, however, it is essential you are employed in a Health and Social Care role, working with Adults.

  • To be willing and able to access a Busy Bees training centre on occasions throughout your course to aid your learning
  • To be able to gain a satisfactory Data Barring Service (DBS)
