Job Title: Audit & Compliance Officer

Based: Hybrid (homebased with travel to Head Office in Burntwood)

Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 DOE

Hours: Full time / 35 hours per week

About the role

As an Audit and Compliance Officer you will be responsible for ensuring compliance across our apprenticeship sector. You will be working at the heart of the business with a keen eye for detail. Your support to the wider business will be invaluable to ensure compliance is maintained and funding risks are kept to a minimum.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain audit schedule across all compliance areas in the business
  • Plan and conduct audits to agreed audit schedule, across all apprenticeship provision and delivery areas
  • Producing and maintaining detailed audit reports identifying audit and financial risks and any action plans that may be required. Reporting findings to the compliance manager and senior leadership team.
  • Working with all internal departments and managers to provide information, advice and guidance on ESFA apprenticeship funding rules to ensure a high level of compliance is maintained
  • Supporting the compliance manager to lead on all external funding audits, including supporting with any reports and actions identified
  • Undertaking regular PDSAT audits and working with the compliance manager to rectify and ensure compliance across the reports
  • Lead the development and implementation of new processes that promote compliance practices
  • Supporting the compliance team with maintaining ILR records and inputting as and when required
  • Develop and maintain assurance guidance and procedures to support internal departments to maintain effective compliance
  • Maintain a good level of understanding of the Ofsted, ESFA and Awarding body requirements.
  • Responsible for meeting all required KPI’s and department targets set by the compliance manager.
  • Responsible for promoting safeguarding, welfare and equality & diversity across the business. 

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Supporting and leading internal and external audits within the apprenticeship sector
  • Working knowledge of the ESFA apprenticeship funding rules
  • Proven experience of MIS and data management
  • Full understanding of PDSAT and ESFA reports
  • Inputting and ILR record maintenance experience
  • ESFA / external audit experience
  • Effective audit producing and communication
  • Working knowledge of ESFA funding rules and Ofsted requirements
  • Supporting the business to maintain a high level of compliance
  • Prior knowledge of the apprenticeship sector
  • English L2
  • Maths L2
