Entry Requirements
  • To be working as a workplace Manager or a Department Manager
  • To be willing and able to access a Busy Bees training centre on occasions throughout the course to aid learning
End Point Assessments (EPA)

The EPA consists of:

  • A Professional Discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
  • Project proposal, presentation and questioning
  • Upon successful completion apprentices are graded: Pass or Distinction
Qualification
Operations / Departmental Manager Level 5

Learners will expect to have some experience in senior management, be the head of a department or a small business owner and understand the responsibility of delivering organisational strategy. Learners will develop a strong understanding of operational management which includes:

  • Creating plans and delivering objectives
  • Understanding business development tools such as the SWOT analysis
  • Development of sales and marketing plans
  • Understand how to manage change and identify barriers and how to overcome them.
  • As well as operational management, learners understand how to:
  • Manage and develop high performing teams
  • Approach partner, stakeholder and supplier relationship management including effective networking
  • Communicate organisational vision and goals and how to apply these to a team.

Operations / Departmental Manager Level 5

On successful completion, apprentices will be eligible for the following roles:

  • Manager
  • Head of Function / Department
  • Area Manager
  • Senior Manager
  • Director

Off-the-Job training (OJT) is a requirement for all apprenticeship standards at all levels. Apprentices must spend 20% of their contracted working hours undertaking Off-the-Job training.

Off-the-Job training must be directly relevant to the apprenticeship standard and teaching them the new knowledge, skills and behaviours required for their role.
