Catering Apprenticeships

As the apprentice you will support the chef to keep a clean and orderly kitchen and tidy store spaces. To ensure the highest standard of food safety and hygiene is always reached. To provide support with food handling, preparation and execution, including quality, stock control, food safety and product consistency.

Key responsibilities and expectations as an apprentice:
  1. Involvement in planning stimulating activities for the children in your care in line with the EYFS
  2. To assist in food handling, preparation and execution
  3. To be aware of allergenic and other dietary needs and how to handle them in the preparation, packaging and display of food
  4. To support with stock control, food safety and product consistency
  5. To check in and store all deliveries
  6. To ensure all machinery is cleaned according to instructions
  7. To ensure all chemical safety is followed according to data hazard sheets and COSHH training
  8. To maintain a clean and safe work environment
  9. To follow guidance from Senior chef
  10. To adhere to all health and safety practices relating to food safety
  11. To complete all relevant training for your role
  12. To report any equipment or maintenance issues directly to your Senior Chef/Manager

Qualifications
  • Maths and English grade D / E /2 or above or functional skills level 1 are desirable

Throughout your apprenticeship you will gain valuable practical experience to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become an excellent chef.

Salary

Catering apprentices will be paid £7.50p/h and contracted to 30 hours each week.
