Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Level 4

Duration: 24 Months

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to work in residential care with children and young people. The qualification will provide the learner with the relevant skills and understanding within the residential childcare sector and the ability to go onto the higher level 5 qualification for management in the sector.

The duration of this course is typically 21 months. End Point Assessment (EPA) duration is 3 months (24 months in total).

Course details

Residential Childcare Workers will demonstrate specific skills that can be developed with the studied units. Workers in this field will use both communication skills and empathy to adapt and respond to children’s needs whilst understanding their actions from their point of view. Learners will understand how to:

  • Safeguard and protect children and young people in residential childcare
  • Support children and young people who have experienced harm and abuse
  • Support risk management in residential childcare
  • Manage the health of children and young people.

    Entry Requirements

    To be suitable for an Intermediate Apprenticeship with Busy Bees Training, you will need:

    • To be willing and able to access a Busy Bees training centre on occasions throughout your course to aid your learning
    • To be able to gain a satisfactory Data Barring Service (DBS)
